Caius Chance, a Fedora Ambassador from Australia would like to meet Linux users in Hong Kong, HKLUG and OpenSource.HK.

  • Introduction of Fedora Project
  • (Talks from bochecha and his colleagues of Fedora development. In communication)
  • Discussions of Chinese language related projects
  • Recruitment of contributor, FAS account set up and mailing list subscription
  • Social networking

Caius is the current Fedora Ambassador Steering Committee member, who leads the 500+ ambassadors team of Fedora. He would like to introduce the Fedora project, the Fedora community and how can everyone join.

Mathieu Bridon is a Fedora Ambassador living in Hong Kong. And Mathieu, Haggen So, Sammy Fung and Wan Leung Wong from HKLUG and opensource.hk will join discussion in this meetup too.

Fedora ambassadors team supports community in organising events such as Fedora Activity Day (FAD). FAD is basically a meet up event for Fedora users and any other open source contributors to have fun together. There are a budget set aside for make FAD happens such as drinks & snacks, venue fee, media/swags/equipment.

GNOME.Asia 2012 is calling for papers.

GNOME.Asia Summit is Asia’s GNOME user and developer conference, spreading the knowledge of GNOME across Asia. The conference will be held in Hong Kong on June 9 and 10. The conference follows the release of GNOME 3.4, helping to bring new desktop paradigms that  facilitate user interaction in the computing world.  It will be a great place to celebrate and explore the many new features and enhancements to the groundbreaking GNOME 3 release and to help make GNOME as successful as possible.

A monthly regular open source / Linux meetup (1st Saturdays of each month)! co-hosted by Open Source HK and HK Linux User Group.

What will we do ?
  • bring our open source / Linux questions and ideas to workshop to seek for answers, helps, ideas from others.
  • in 5-min lightning talks / 25-min talk, present and share your experience, knowledge to us.
  • assist newbies to install Linux on their own laptops, tell and discuss why and how to use open source / Linux to/with newbies
  • meet with old friends, making new friends, building your own social network.
  • having informal dinner together after workshops and chit-chat!
